Mervis is the Secretary/receptionist at the Secretariat office in Lusaka and has over 20 years of experience. Besides her front office duties, Mervis maintains a directory of all lawyers in Zambia, makes logistical arrangements for all Council meetings, and coordinates the 20 (Twenty) Committees of LAZ.

Mervis holds a Certificate in Secretarial studies from the Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce, a Certificate in Secretarial Mean Business, and a Certificate in Computer studies.
